Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of patients for CT examinations, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
  • Accurately position patients for various CT scans, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Operate CT scanning equipment under direct supervision, selecting appropriate protocols for optimal image quality.
  • Monitor patients during scans, recognizing and responding to changes in their condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to imaging procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
  • Clean and maintain CT equipment and scan rooms, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, radiographers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Provide compassionate and respectful care to all patients, upholding confidentiality at all times.

Required Skills

  • BSc (Hons) in Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or eligible for registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Commitment to patient safety and well-being.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior clinical placement experience in CT scanning.
  • Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development in medical imaging.
