Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting on wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule to ensure optimal turbine performance and longevity.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently, utilizing specialized tools and diagnostic software.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, especially when working at heights or in confined spaces.
  • Complete detailed reports and documentation of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
  • Respond to service calls and alarms promptly, ensuring minimal downtime of wind farm assets.
  • Assist with major component replacements and upgrades when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including company tools and equipment.

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • High level of safety consciousness and adherence to procedures.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work at heights (up to 100 meters) and in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Basic computer proficiency for data entry and reporting.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or vocational training in a related technical field (e.g., industrial mechanics, electrical engineering technology, mechatronics).
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Experience with heavy machinery or industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with GWO (Global Wind Organisation) standards or similar safety certifications.
