Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Record Label A&R Coordinator to join our vibrant team in Tempe, Arizona. This pivotal role supports our A&R department in identifying, signing, and developing new musical talent, playing a crucial part in the foundation of our artists’ careers and the future success of our label. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless communication and coordination across various internal teams and external partners.

As an A&R Coordinator, you will be deeply immersed in the music discovery process, constantly scouting for promising artists through online platforms, live shows, and industry networks. Your keen ear for talent and understanding of current music trends will be invaluable. Beyond talent identification, you will assist with the administrative backbone of A&R, managing demo submissions, maintaining comprehensive artist databases, and coordinating meetings for A&R executives. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for music across diverse genres. You will also contribute to the creative process by offering insights into artist development, tracking project timelines, and ensuring all necessary assets are in place for recording, mixing, and mastering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scout and evaluate new musical talent through various channels including online platforms, live performances, and industry recommendations.
  • Manage and organize the incoming demo submission process, providing initial reviews and filtering relevant material for A&R executives.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive artist databases, contact lists, and project tracking systems.
  • Assist A&R executives with scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and coordinating travel arrangements.
  • Liaise with artists, managers, producers, and internal departments (marketing, legal, operations) to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Research and analyze music industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging artists to inform A&R strategy.
  • Support artist development initiatives, including demo recording sessions, songwriting camps, and creative feedback loops.
  • Monitor social media and digital platforms for artist engagement and audience growth.
  • Prepare and process various administrative documents, including expense reports, contracts, and rights clearances.
  • Attend industry events, showcases, and concerts to network and identify new opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Proven passion for music and a deep understanding of current genres and emerging artists.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Entertainment Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (internship or entry-level) in A&R, talent management, or a record label setting.
  • Familiarity with music industry software and digital distribution platforms.
  • Existing network within the music community (artists, producers, venues).
  • Experience with social media analytics and digital marketing strategies for artists.
