Job Description

As a WSIB Claims Adjudicator with Hiring.zycto, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the fair, efficient, and timely adjudication of Workers’ Compensation claims for individuals and businesses across the Medicine Hat region. Key Responsibilities

  • Adjudicate WSIB claims efficiently and accurately, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations, gather necessary information, and interview claimants, employers, and healthcare providers.
  • Analyze medical reports, legal documents, and other evidence to determine claim validity and benefit entitlement.
  • Communicate complex decisions clearly, professionally, and empathetically to all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Facilitate and monitor return-to-work plans and rehabilitation programs for injured workers.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, prioritizing tasks and meeting established service standards and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all claim activities and decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless claim management.
  • Identify and address potential issues or disputes, escalating complex cases as appropriate.
  • Stay current with changes in WSIB legislation, policies, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in claims adjudication, preferably with WSIB or similar workers' compensation boards.
  • Thorough understanding of WSIB legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, including active listening and negotiation.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong interviewing and investigative skills.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and ability to interpret medical reports.
  • Demonstrated empathy, integrity, and sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as law, health sciences, social sciences, or business administration.
  • Experience in dispute resolution or mediation.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Certification in claims management or a related professional designation.
