Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, de-shedding, nail trims, ear cleaning, and styling according to breed standards and owner preferences.
- Assess pets for skin conditions, parasites, or other health issues and communicate findings to owners.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organised grooming station and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and handling procedures to ensure the well-being of animals and staff.
- Consult with pet owners to understand their grooming requests and provide expert advice on styles and aftercare.
- Manage scheduling and client communications efficiently.
- Handle various dog breeds and temperaments with patience, compassion, and professionalism.
- Monitor and maintain grooming supplies and notify management of inventory needs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional Dog Groomer
- Proficiency in all aspects of dog grooming, including scissoring, clipping, and hand-stripping
- Excellent knowledge of dog breeds, their coats, and grooming techniques
- Strong animal handling skills and the ability to work with various temperaments
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy animals
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant grooming certification (e.g., City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Dog Grooming)
- First Aid certification for animals
- Experience with a variety of grooming tools and technologies
