Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vulnerability scans and assessments on networks, applications, and systems using industry-standard tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Tenable.io).
  • Analyze and interpret vulnerability scan results, identifying false positives and prioritizing risks based on severity, exploitability, and business impact.
  • Develop detailed reports outlining vulnerabilities, potential impacts, and recommended remediation steps for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with IT, development, and system administration teams to advise on and track the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, attack techniques, and vulnerability disclosures to enhance proactive defense strategies.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures related to vulnerability management.
  • Participate in security incident response activities, providing expertise on vulnerability context and potential exploit paths.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of vulnerability management processes and tools.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
  • Maintain documentation for security configurations, procedures, and remediation efforts.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in vulnerability management, security analysis, or a related cybersecurity role.
  • Proficiency with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7 InsightVM).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical issues to diverse audiences.
