Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking motivated and diligent General Laborers to join our growing construction teams based in the vibrant Siwash Rock, Vancouver area, and across the broader Metro Vancouver region. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and are eager to contribute to diverse construction projects, ranging from large-scale commercial developments and essential infrastructure improvements to detailed residential builds. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of manual tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying, and placing construction materials and equipment.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers) with their tasks as required.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision (e.g., drills, saws, grinders, compactors).
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, trash, and hazardous materials, ensuring a clean work area.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and storage areas.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, barricades, and other site components.
  • Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Assist with the proper disposal of waste and recycling materials on site in accordance with environmental guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other site personnel regarding project progress, challenges, and safety concerns.

  • Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks consistently and safely for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding and unwavering commitment to construction site safety practices and protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a vital part of a team.
  • Exceptional reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic.
  • Basic knowledge of common construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a construction or general manual labor role.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record and reliable personal transportation.
  • Completion of recognized construction safety courses (e.g., Fall Protection, WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, First Aid/CPR).
  • Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Experience operating light construction machinery (e.g., skid steer, forklift) with appropriate certification.
