Job Description

Are you passionate about helping individuals build a new life and thrive in a welcoming community? Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Newcomer Support Worker to join our team in Wiltse, Penticton. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of immigrants, refugees, and other newcomers by providing essential support, guidance, and resources as they navigate their integration into Canadian society.

As a Newcomer Support Worker, you will be the first point of contact and a vital link for individuals and families embarking on a new chapter. Your primary mission will be to empower newcomers by assisting them in overcoming barriers, accessing critical services, and fostering a sense of belonging. This involves everything from initial needs assessments and resource navigation to advocacy and cultural orientation. You will connect clients with housing, employment services, language training, healthcare, education, and legal aid, ensuring they have the tools and information necessary to succeed.

This role requires a deep understanding of the challenges faced by newcomers, coupled with exceptional empathy and cultural sensitivity. You will work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, each with unique stories and needs, requiring a flexible and adaptive approach. Beyond practical assistance, you will provide emotional support and build trusting relationships, helping clients feel valued and understood during a potentially vulnerable period. You will also collaborate closely with community partners, government agencies, and other support organizations to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to client care.

Hiring.zycto is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for both our staff and the communities we serve. We believe that a strong community is built on the foundation of shared respect and mutual support. If you are a proactive problem-solver with a strong commitment to social justice and a desire to make a tangible difference, we invite you to apply. Join us in our mission to build a more welcoming and integrated Penticton for all.
