Hiring.zycto is searching for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Pattern Cutter to join our innovative design and production team. You’ll be involved in every step from interpreting artistic vision to creating the technical blueprint for garments. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a steady hand, and a genuine interest in the technical aspects of fashion manufacturing. You’ll learn to utilize both traditional pattern-making techniques and modern CAD software, ensuring our patterns are accurate, efficient, and meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret design sketches, technical flats, and specifications to create accurate first patterns.
  • Develop and refine patterns to ensure proper fit, aesthetic, and construction feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, sample makers, and production teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Conduct initial fittings, identify issues, and make necessary pattern adjustments.
  • Utilize both manual pattern-making techniques and basic CAD software for pattern development and digitization.
  • Maintain organized pattern libraries and documentation for all styles.
  • Ensure all patterns adhere to company standards for quality and production efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of patterns for production, including basic pattern grading under supervision.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of garment construction and sewing techniques.
  • Foundational knowledge of pattern-making principles (dart manipulation, slopers, etc.).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manual dexterity and a keen eye for proportion and balance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or certification in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with any CAD pattern-making software (e.g., Optitex, Lectra, Gerber, Clo3D) is a plus.
  • Experience with different fabric types and their drape characteristics.
  • Basic knowledge of grading principles and how patterns adapt across sizes.
  • A portfolio showcasing pattern-making projects (academic or personal).
