Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Environmental Scientist to join our growing team in Wirral. This is a unique opportunity for an individual passionate about environmental protection and sustainable development to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects. You will be instrumental in conducting detailed environmental impact assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with national and international environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and strategic environmental assessments (SEAs) for various projects.
- Perform site investigations, data collection, and analysis, including soil, water, and air quality monitoring.
- Prepare comprehensive environmental reports, technical documents, and permit applications.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure project compliance with relevant environmental legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide expert advice on environmental risks and opportunities.
- Participate in stakeholder consultations and public engagements.
- Contribute to business development activities and proposal writing.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in environmental consulting or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and policy frameworks.
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis and report writing.
- Excellent fieldwork skills, including sampling and monitoring techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Membership in a professional body (e.g., IEMA, CIEEM).
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Familiarity with environmental modeling tools.
- Experience in specific areas such as contaminated land, hydrogeology, or biodiversity net gain.
