Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a meticulous and proactive Workplace Safety Inspector to join our dynamic team in Bramalea, Brampton. This pivotal full-time role is essential for upholding our unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment across all our operations. As a Workplace Safety Inspector, you will be on the front lines, ensuring that all aspects of our workplace meet or exceed provincial and federal safety regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, detailed inspections of facilities, machinery, and work processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations (e.g., OHSA, WSIB, CSA).
- Investigate all workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses thoroughly to determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
- Develop, deliver, and facilitate comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels, covering topics such as hazard identification, emergency procedures, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, incident investigations, training sessions, and safety-related documentation.
- Collaborate with management, supervisors, and employees to implement safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and recommend continuous improvements based on performance data, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety devices.
- Participate in joint health and safety committee meetings, providing expert input and guidance.
- Stay current with changes in health and safety legislation, industry trends, and emerging best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Workplace Safety Inspector or a similar Health and Safety role.
- In-depth knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations, WSIB requirements, and CSA standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and deliver engaging presentations.
- Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) designation.
- Experience in the logistics, manufacturing, or warehousing industries.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Additional safety-related certifications (e.g., confined space, fall protection, lockout/tagout).
