Job Description

Hiring.zycto is proud to be recruiting on behalf of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) for a dedicated and highly skilled Intelligence Analyst to join their critical team in Sudbury, Ontario. This full-time, on-site position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to Canada’s national security by identifying, assessing, and mitigating threats to the country.

As an Intelligence Analyst with CSIS, you will be at the forefront of protecting Canada from complex and evolving threats such as terrorism, espionage, foreign interference, cyber attacks, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Your work will involve in-depth research, sophisticated analysis of vast datasets, and the production of insightful intelligence products that directly inform government policy and operational decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research, analysis, and assessment of information related to national security threats, including terrorism, espionage, foreign interference, and cyber threats.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of regional and global security issues, geopolitical trends, and emerging threats relevant to Canada's security interests.
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies to process, interpret, and synthesize complex and often ambiguous data from various sources.
  • Produce clear, concise, and timely intelligence reports, briefings, and assessments for senior decision-makers and operational partners.
  • Identify critical intelligence gaps and propose collection requirements to inform operational activities.
  • Collaborate effectively with inter-agency partners, domestic law enforcement, and international allies to share information and develop shared situational awareness.
  • Present findings and analytical products orally and in writing to diverse audiences, including those with limited background knowledge.
  • Maintain strict adherence to security protocols, confidentiality, and legal frameworks governing intelligence operations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance analytical capabilities and stay current with evolving threats and intelligence practices.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Criminology, History, Sociology, Economics, Intelligence Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in intelligence analysis, research, or a similar analytical role within a government, security, or national defence context.
  • Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate information, identify biases, and assess source credibility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for recognizing patterns and making logical inferences from incomplete data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce high-quality, concise, and impactful intelligence products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data analysis tools and databases.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Canadian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Fluency in a second official language (French) or other languages relevant to global security (e.g., Arabic, Mandarin, Russian).
  • Experience with open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering and analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of intelligence methodologies, threat assessment frameworks, and security legislation in Canada.
  • Familiarity with geopolitical dynamics and specific regions of interest to Canadian national security.
  • Previous experience working with classified information systems or in a secure environment.
