Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Bid Manager to join our growing team in the heart of Aberdeen. You will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, developing win strategies, and managing the entire bid lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end bid management process, from qualification and strategy development through to submission and post-submission clarification.
  • Develop and implement winning bid strategies, meticulously tailored to specific client requirements, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal resources, including sales, technical experts, legal counsel, and finance teams, to gather necessary information and craft comprehensive, high-quality proposals.
  • Write, edit, and meticulously proofread all bid documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency, compelling narratives, and strict compliance with client specifications and company brand guidelines.
  • Manage bid timelines and deliverables with precision, proactively addressing potential delays to ensure all deadlines are met without compromising the quality of the submission.
  • Conduct thorough post-bid reviews and analysis to identify areas for continuous improvement, applying lessons learned to future bid efforts and implementing best practices.
  • Maintain and continually improve a centralized repository of standard bid collateral, ensuring it is current, relevant, and readily accessible.
  • Present comprehensive bid strategies, progress reports, and key insights to senior management and executive teams.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared success.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bid Manager, Proposal Manager, or similar role, preferably within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to articulate complex information clearly, concisely, and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple complex bids concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and demonstrable experience with CRM or dedicated bid management software.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • Strategic thinking with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and a clear focus on achieving business growth.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the full bid lifecycle and best practices in proposal development.
  • Legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) Foundation, Practitioner, or Professional certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience within the Technology Consulting, IT Services, Energy, or Professional Services sector.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement processes and frameworks (e.g., OJEU).
