Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a comprehensive portfolio of real estate transactions, including residential, commercial, industrial, and retail properties.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various real estate agreements, such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and financing documents.
- Conduct thorough due diligence, title searches, and property investigations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Advise clients on land use planning, zoning regulations, municipal approvals, and environmental compliance.
- Provide expert legal opinions and strategic advice on complex real estate matters, including development projects and joint ventures.
- Represent clients in real estate disputes, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant real estate laws, regulations, and industry best practices in Ontario and Canada.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in real estate law and market trends to provide informed counsel.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive legal support.
Required Skills
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from an accredited university.
- Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-call experience specifically in real estate law in Ontario.
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial and residential real estate transactions.
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong client management and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
