Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a motivated and reliable Masonry Laborer to join our dynamic team in Toronto. This is an immediate start, full-time position offering consistent work and the chance to contribute to significant construction projects across the city. As a Masonry Laborer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our skilled masons, ensuring smooth operations on job sites, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You’ll be involved in various stages of masonry work, from site preparation and material handling to assisting with brick, block, and stone laying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled masons with various tasks, including mixing mortar, cutting bricks/blocks, and preparing materials.
  • Load, unload, and transport masonry materials such as bricks, blocks, stone, sand, and cement to designated work areas.
  • Prepare job sites by setting up scaffolding, cleaning work areas, and ensuring a safe and organized environment.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Perform general site clean-up and material organization throughout the workday.
  • Help with the demolition of existing masonry structures when required.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in construction or a related field.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols.
  • Reliable transportation to various job sites across Toronto.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions diligently.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience specifically in masonry work or as a labourer on a masonry crew.
  • Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Working at Heights training.
