As a Roofing Contractor Apprentice, you will be immersed in a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge to become a certified professional roofer. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced roofers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of various roofing systems (e.g., asphalt, metal, flat roofs).
- Learn and apply essential roofing techniques, including material preparation, measuring, cutting, fastening, and sealing.
- Safely load, unload, and transport roofing materials and equipment to and from job sites.
- Perform site preparation and cleanup, ensuring a tidy and safe working environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, learning proper usage and maintenance.
- Assist with tearing off old roofing materials and preparing surfaces for new installations.
- Learn to identify different roofing materials and their applications.
- Participate in daily team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, ask questions, and accept constructive feedback.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work at heights.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety or eagerness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in general labour or construction an asset.
- Valid G Class Driver's License.
