Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and physically capable Construction Workers for immediate full-time positions in the vibrant Old Town area of Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labourer duties on construction sites, including site clean-up, material handling, and tool organization.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, masons, electricians) with various tasks as directed, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively, such as drills, saws, and grinders, strictly following all operational guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Dig trenches, spread gravel, mix and pour concrete, and assist with framing and demolition work as required by project specifications.
  • Load and unload materials, scaffolding, and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper storage, secure transportation, and inventory management.
  • Adhere strictly to all site-specific and company safety protocols, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, and actively participating in safety briefings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, contributing to overall site safety, operational efficiency, and a positive team atmosphere.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rain).
  • Basic understanding and safe handling of various hand and power tools common in construction environments.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and strict adherence to all safety regulations, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions effectively from supervisors and team leads.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude towards all assigned tasks.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, often exceeding 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid certifications for construction safety courses (e.g., Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid and CPR).
  • Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a general construction or heavy labourer role is highly regarded.
  • Possession of a valid G driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable personal transportation.
  • Experience operating minor construction equipment (e.g., skid steer, forklift, scissor lift) with appropriate certification.
