Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas of the mall on foot or by vehicle, maintaining a highly visible presence to deter crime.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, to identify and address any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and calls for assistance, including medical emergencies and lost children.
- Enforce mall policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and orderly environment for all visitors and staff.
- Complete detailed reports on all incidents, observations, and activities during shifts.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors with directions, information, and general inquiries.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of premises to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Assist in crowd control during special events or peak shopping periods.
Required Skills
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Basic computer proficiency for report writing and surveillance monitoring.
- Physical capability to patrol on foot for extended periods and respond to emergencies.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
