Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Food Service Manager in daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring smooth shifts.
  • Learn and implement robust inventory management techniques, including accurate ordering, efficient receiving, and proper stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Monitor and rigorously ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including HACCP principles and local health codes.
  • Actively participate in supervising and training junior staff members, fostering a positive, productive, and respectful work environment.
  • Assist in staff scheduling, conducting performance evaluations, and managing employee relations in accordance with company policies.
  • Proactively handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee food preparation, presentation, and service to consistently maintain our stringent quality standards and brand integrity.
  • Support essential financial tasks such as accurate cash handling, detailed sales reporting, and contributing to cost control initiatives.
  • Participate in creative menu planning, special event coordination, and the development of effective promotional activities.
  • Ensure all kitchen and dining equipment is properly maintained and operational, coordinating necessary repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
  • Flexibility and availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and a strong commitment to professional development
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, email)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or certification in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field
  • Previous experience (e.g., co-op, part-time) in a customer service or food service role
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hire and company support)
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic inventory software
