Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and food preparation areas to the highest hygiene standards.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cutlery manually or using a dishwashing machine.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients.
- Receive, store, and organise deliveries of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas, including fridges, freezers, and dry stores.
- Remove kitchen waste and recycling, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of catering events, including transporting equipment and food items.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen management.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Support the culinary team during peak service times to ensure efficient operation.
Required Skills
- Previous experience (minimum 6 months) in a kitchen or catering environment.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety principles.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking, or a similar qualification.
