Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Access Control Specialist – Tech to join our dynamic security operations team in Cedarvale-Humewood, Toronto. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission new access control hardware and software systems according to specifications.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and upgrades to existing access control infrastructure.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to access control systems, including readers, panels, network components, and software applications.
  • Manage user credentials, access levels, and security permissions in strict compliance with company policies and security protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, incident reports, and inventory.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support and training to end-users on access control system functionalities and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with IT and other security teams to ensure seamless integration of access control systems with broader security solutions.
  • Ensure all access control operations and installations adhere to relevant regulatory standards, building codes, and internal security policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) with leading access control systems (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Honeywell, CCure 9000).
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, IP-based security devices, and basic networking protocols.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software components of access control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to various sites within the region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical diploma in Electronics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Genetec Certified Professional, LenelS2 Certified Expert, CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience with integrated CCTV, intercom, and alarm systems.
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity best practices as they apply to physical security systems.
