Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing all daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Optimize inventory control procedures, conduct regular stock checks, and minimize discrepancies.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement and enforce operational processes to maximize output and quality while minimizing errors.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., transport, customer service) to ensure seamless workflow and timely order fulfillment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, including supervisory or team leader roles.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in health and safety regulations pertinent to warehouse environments.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant professional certification in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in a warehouse setting.
  • Forklift truck license (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach).
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
