Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and energetic Seasonal Pool Technician to join our growing team in the Outer Harbour, Toronto area. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in an outdoor, hands-on role and take pride in delivering exceptional service. As a Seasonal Pool Technician, you will be the cornerstone of our commitment to ensuring our clients’ pools are immaculate, safe, and ready for enjoyment throughout the swimming season. You’ll be responsible for a portfolio of residential and commercial pools, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues, and building positive relationships with our valued customers. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of pool chemistry and equipment operation. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine pool cleaning, including skimming, vacuuming, and brushing pool surfaces.
  • Monitor and adjust water chemistry levels (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid) to ensure optimal balance and safety.
  • Inspect and maintain pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, and automatic cleaners.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on pool equipment and systems.
  • Empty skimmer and pump baskets, backwash filters, and clean salt cell generators as needed.
  • Document services performed, water test results, and any observed issues accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding pool conditions, recommended services, and maintenance tips.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company guidelines for chemical handling and on-site work.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and ensure all tools and chemicals are properly stored.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pool maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of pool water chemistry and chemical balancing.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting common pool equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily route efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or similar certification.
  • Previous experience with commercial pool systems.
  • Familiarity with various pool types (e.g., saltwater, chlorinated, heated).
  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge applicable to pool systems.
