Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer with a specialisation in Road Construction to join our dynamic team in Corstorphine, Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of road construction projects, including highways, local roads, and associated infrastructure.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with UK standards (e.g., DMRB, MCHW).
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and assessments to inform design decisions and identify potential risks.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and obtain necessary approvals.
- Provide on-site technical supervision, ensuring construction activities adhere to design specifications and safety protocols.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff, fostering professional development within the team.
- Implement quality assurance and control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and evaluate innovative engineering solutions and sustainable practices for road construction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in civil engineering with a specialisation in road construction.
- Strong understanding of UK highway design standards (DMRB, MCHW).
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and highway design software.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Ability to conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues.
