Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and thorough Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong focus on manual testing to join our dynamic team in Cedarvale-Humewood, Toronto. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of our software products before they reach our users. You will work closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, design comprehensive test plans, execute detailed manual tests, and report defects with precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for new and existing product features.
  • Perform thorough manual testing across various platforms and environments (web, mobile, desktop applications) to ensure product quality and integrity.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs using designated defect tracking tools, working closely with development teams to resolve them.
  • Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning meetings to ensure testability of features and alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct regression testing, exploratory testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate fixes and ensure overall system stability.
  • Collaborate with product owners to clarify requirements and user stories, ensuring a clear understanding of expected functionality.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Provide clear and concise status reports on testing progress, risks, and defects to project stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst with a strong emphasis on manual testing.
  • Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and test management tools.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
  • Familiarity with various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries for database testing.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and browser developer tools.
  • Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman or Swagger.
