As a Construction Site Helper, you will be an integral part of our project teams, assisting skilled tradespeople and ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
- Perform general labour duties, including site cleanup, debris removal, and organizing materials.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare work areas by setting up scaffolding, barricades, and safety netting.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision (e.g., shovels, rakes, drills, grinders).
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Support equipment operators by spotting, flagging, and ensuring clear communication on site.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of tools, equipment, and storage areas.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude towards learning new tasks and skills.
- Reliability and punctuality; ability to commit to scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and relay information.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following all safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., landscaping, warehousing).
- Basic First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
