Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company van to deliver goods to customers on scheduled routes within Stonehaven and the wider Aberdeen area.
- Load and unload merchandise efficiently and carefully, ensuring secure transport and minimizing damage.
- Conduct thorough pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and mileage sheets using company procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations, company policies, and relevant transport legislation.
- Provide outstanding customer service during deliveries, handling enquiries and issues professionally and courteously.
- Manage delivery documentation, including obtaining proof of delivery and manifest sign-offs.
- Represent Hiring.zycto positively through professional conduct and a tidy appearance at all times.
- Assist with basic warehouse duties, such as sorting and organizing packages, when not on delivery routes.
- Handle cash or payment transactions securely and accurately as required by delivery protocols.
Required Skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence (Category B) with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a van driver or delivery driver in a professional capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and navigation within the Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire region.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 25kg) safely and repeatedly.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers and colleagues.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong, proactive work ethic with a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices, route planning applications, and basic mobile technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-drop deliveries and optimizing routes for efficiency.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role with direct client interaction.
- Familiarity with digital delivery management systems and handheld scanners.
