Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Ontario Curriculum and individual student needs.
  • Provide high-quality, differentiated instruction to students in a classroom or small group setting.
  • Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student achievement.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment conducive to student growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies and educational technologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.

Required Skills

  • Valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing.
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in relevant subject areas and strong pedagogical knowledge.
  • Proven ability to create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet diverse student needs and scheduling requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching diverse learners, including those with special education needs or English language learners.
  • Proficiency with educational technology and blended learning approaches.
  • Specialization or additional qualifications in high-demand subjects (e.g., French, STEM, arts).
  • Familiarity with current educational research and best practices.
