Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Ontario Curriculum and individual student needs.
- Provide high-quality, differentiated instruction to students in a classroom or small group setting.
- Assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student achievement.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment conducive to student growth and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
- Utilize various teaching strategies and educational technologies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
Required Skills
- Valid Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Demonstrated expertise in relevant subject areas and strong pedagogical knowledge.
- Proven ability to create and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet diverse student needs and scheduling requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching diverse learners, including those with special education needs or English language learners.
- Proficiency with educational technology and blended learning approaches.
