Job Description

As a Stock Controller – Product Recording & Dispatch at our Fulwood, Sheffield facility, you are the cornerstone of our operational excellence. This pivotal role ensures the meticulous management and seamless flow of inventory from its initial arrival to final dispatch. Your primary responsibility will be to uphold the highest standards of stock accuracy, directly influencing our ability to meet customer demand and maintain efficient supply chain operations. You will be instrumental in the precise recording of all incoming goods, ensuring quantities match purchase orders and any discrepancies are promptly identified and resolved. This involves diligent data entry into our advanced inventory management systems, maintaining real-time visibility of stock levels, and categorising products for optimal storage and retrieval. Furthermore, you will oversee the accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of orders, guaranteeing that products are correctly allocated, prepared, and shipped to meet strict delivery schedules. Regular cycle counts and comprehensive stock takes will be a key part of your routine, requiring you to investigate variances thoroughly and implement corrective actions. Collaborating closely with our warehouse teams, procurement specialists, and customer service department, you will act as a vital link, ensuring clear communication and coordinated efforts across the entire logistics chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using internal systems.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system data.
  • Oversee the accurate receipt, checking, and recording of incoming goods.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of products within the warehouse.
  • Coordinate and execute the picking, packing, and dispatching of customer orders.
  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, reporting issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to manage stock levels and forecasts.
  • Implement and adhere to health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to inventory management processes.
  • Prepare and generate inventory reports for management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a stock control, inventory management, or warehouse role.
  • Strong proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Physical fitness for lifting and moving goods as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Forklift license (Reach/Counterbalance).
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
