Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
- Assist clients with medication reminders as per care plan.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying living areas, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities and provide companionship.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings.
- Monitor and report any changes in client's health, behavior, or living conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in home care, long-term care, or a similar caregiving role (at least 6 months).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in Personal Support Worker (PSW), Home Health Aide (HHA), or equivalent.
- Experience with clients requiring specialized care (e.g., dementia, palliative care).
- Proficiency in languages other than English relevant to the Toronto community.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
