Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a diligent and proactive Alarm Response Runner for the Night Shift to join our dedicated security team in North Vancouver. This critical role involves responding promptly and effectively to alarms and security incidents primarily located at or around the iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge and surrounding properties. As an Alarm Response Runner, you will be the frontline presence ensuring the safety and security of premises, assets, and personnel during crucial overnight hours when vigilance is paramount.

Your responsibilities will extend beyond simply responding to alerts; you will conduct thorough investigations into alarm activations, identifying potential threats or vulnerabilities with a keen eye for detail. This includes systematically checking all entry points, performing detailed perimeter checks, inspecting for signs of unauthorized access, and assessing environmental factors that might trigger alarms. You will be expected to implement immediate corrective actions, secure compromised areas, and meticulously document all incidents using our digital reporting systems. Coordination with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) and senior security personnel will be essential in managing any significant events, requiring clear, concise communication under pressure.

Working predominantly during the quiet, yet critical, hours of the night, this position demands a high degree of reliability, self-sufficiency, and physical preparedness. You will operate independently for much of your shift, requiring strong decision-making capabilities and a proactive approach to potential security challenges. This includes being prepared for varied weather conditions typical of the North Vancouver area and navigating the unique topography of our operational zones. The ideal candidate will possess an unwavering commitment to safety, exceptional observational skills, and the ability to remain calm and decisive even in high-stress situations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for relaying information clearly and concisely, both internally and to external stakeholders. This role is perfect for individuals who are natural night owls, enjoy dynamic and impactful work, and are dedicated to maintaining a secure environment around one of British Columbia’s most cherished landmarks. If you are vigilant, dependable, and ready to take on a crucial role protecting significant assets and ensuring peace of mind, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our growing team.
