Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Arena Attendant to join our dynamic team at the iconic Atwater Market in Montreal. As an Arena Attendant, you will be the frontline support for our operations, responsible for a variety of tasks that keep our arena in prime condition. From meticulously maintaining the ice surface or playing area to assisting patrons, managing equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols, your work will directly contribute to the enjoyment and well-being of hundreds of users each week. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards of the arena facilities, including common areas, changing rooms, and the playing surface.
- Monitor public use of the arena, enforcing rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
- Prepare and maintain the ice surface or other playing areas as required, including flood operations or equipment setup.
- Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment for various programs, events, and sports activities.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering visitor questions, providing directions, and offering assistance as needed.
- Perform routine checks on facility equipment and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs to management.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, administer basic first aid if certified, and follow established emergency procedures.
- Accurately complete incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Manage equipment rentals and returns, ensuring proper handling and inventory.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for the facility, securing premises as instructed.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong observational skills for safety monitoring.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an arena, recreational facility, customer service, or a similar public-facing role.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of facility operations or recreational equipment.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is highly valued for serving our diverse community in Montreal.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
