Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a passionate and experienced Art Teacher to join our dynamic studio team in Bathurst Manor, Toronto. This is an incredible opportunity for an educator who is deeply committed to nurturing artistic talent across various age groups and skill levels. As an Art Teacher in our studio, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering engaging art curricula that inspire creativity, encourage critical thinking, and cultivate technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Our studio prides itself on providing a supportive and stimulating environment where students feel empowered to explore their artistic voices and express themselves freely. We are looking for an individual who can not only teach fundamental art techniques but also motivate students to push their boundaries, experiment with new styles, and understand the historical and cultural contexts of art. You will be responsible for managing classroom dynamics, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all learners, and providing constructive feedback that helps students grow. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging art lesson plans and curricula for various age groups and skill levels.
- Instruct students in diverse art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to foster their artistic development and technique.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring studio environment, ensuring proper use and storage of art materials.
- Manage classroom behavior and dynamics effectively to create an inclusive and productive learning space.
- Assess student progress and portfolios, communicating effectively with parents/guardians when necessary.
- Stay current with contemporary art practices and educational methodologies to enrich teaching.
- Organize and oversee student art exhibitions or showcases within the studio or community.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and collaborative curriculum planning.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations pertinent to an art studio.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience teaching art in a studio or educational setting.
- Proficiency in a wide range of artistic mediums and techniques.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, particularly with students and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire creativity and foster a positive learning environment.
- A strong personal artistic portfolio.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Fine Arts or Art Education.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and learning styles.
- Knowledge of art history and contemporary art movements.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Experience with digital art software and technologies.
