Your primary focus will be on managing a portfolio of categories, from initial market analysis and supplier identification to negotiation, contract management, and performance optimization. You will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance teams, to ensure seamless execution of category plans and to contribute to our collective success.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record in strategic procurement and category management, ideally within the retail or consumer goods sector. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth market research to identify trends, evaluate supplier capabilities, and mitigate risks. Your ability to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, negotiate favorable terms, and manage supplier performance will be critical to achieving our ambitious goals. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct in-depth market research, trend analysis, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Manage end-to-end sourcing processes, including RFI/RFP development, negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers to drive performance and innovation.
- Identify and deliver cost savings opportunities, efficiency improvements, and value-added initiatives.
- Monitor category performance against KPIs, providing regular reports and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance) to ensure successful category execution.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and sustainability goals.
- Proactively manage risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in category management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in Category Management or Strategic Procurement (4+ years).
- Exceptional negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) and procurement software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
- CIPS qualification or equivalent professional certification.
- Experience in the Retail, FMCG, or Manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with contract law and risk management in procurement.
- Experience with ERP systems and e-procurement platforms.
