Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, program, and operate various CNC machines (mills, lathes) according to blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
  • Monitor machine operations, making necessary adjustments to ensure product quality and machine efficiency.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code programs.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, quality control, and production teams to optimize processes and resolve issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Document production activities, including completed work, inspections, and any deviations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with expertise in milling and turning operations.
  • Proficiency in setting up, programming (G-code, M-code), and operating CNC machinery.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Expertise in using precision measuring tools and performing quality inspections.
  • Solid understanding of cutting tools, inserts, and their applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Legally eligible for visa sponsorship to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Machining, Tool and Die, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) for program generation.
  • Familiarity with various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Previous experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, medical, automotive).
