Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a highly accomplished and strategic Controller to join our core financial leadership team in Dore, Sheffield. You will play a central role in managing all aspects of accounting operations, from monthly closing processes and financial reporting to budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparedness. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances and providing insightful analysis.
  • Manage and comply with local, national, and international government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Oversee the external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance and provide recommendations to management.
  • Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Proven working experience as a Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, CIMA, or ACA certification.
  • Experience in a rapidly growing or complex business environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Experience with financial modelling and business intelligence tools.
