Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances and providing insightful analysis.
- Manage and comply with local, national, and international government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Oversee the external audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance and provide recommendations to management.
- Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants.
- Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven working experience as a Controller or in a similar senior finance role.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (IFRS/GAAP).
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, or ACA certification.
- Experience in a rapidly growing or complex business environment.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Experience with financial modelling and business intelligence tools.
