Job Description

As a Customs and Border Agent with Hiring.zycto in Huron Park, Kitchener, you will play a pivotal role in protecting national security, facilitating legitimate trade and travel, and upholding Canadian laws and regulations at the border. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of individuals, conveyances, and goods entering or exiting Canada.
  • Enforce Canadian customs, immigration, and trade legislation, including the Customs Act and Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Assess and collect duties, taxes, and other levies on imported goods.
  • Identify, interdict, and seize prohibited or restricted goods, including narcotics, weapons, and illicit substances.
  • Interview travelers and importers to determine admissibility and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Utilize intelligence and risk assessment tools to target high-risk individuals or shipments.
  • Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and evidence for administrative or judicial proceedings.
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in potentially confrontational or high-stress situations.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment for inspection and detection.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and government departments as required.
