Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and experienced Cyber Security Specialist passionate about safeguarding digital assets and infrastructure? This role requires a deep understanding of security principles, technologies, and best practices. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a critical role in identifying vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, implementing robust security controls, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and monitoring security solutions across various platforms. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on work with security tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends and attack vectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security systems for anomalies, breaches, and potential threats, initiating timely responses.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough incident response investigations, including forensic analysis and recovery efforts.
  • Implement and manage security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Provide expert guidance on security architecture and design for new systems and applications.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously improve our security posture.
  • Educate and train employees on cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001) and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with IT, development, and operations teams to integrate security into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and network security concepts.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security auditing tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of operating system security (Windows, Linux, macOS).
  • Expertise in incident response methodologies and digital forensics.
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH).
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or PCI DSS.
  • Familiarity with DevOps security practices and secure coding principles.
  • Experience in a consulting or managed security services environment.
