Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our compassionate team as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with no prior experience. This is a unique opportunity for aspiring medical professionals who are passionate about emergency care and eager to make a tangible difference in the lives of others. As an entry-level EMT, you will be the frontline hero, providing immediate medical assistance and critical care to patients in various emergency situations within Owen Brown, Columbia, and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide on-site medical care to patients.
  • Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate course of treatment based on established protocols.
  • Administer basic life support (BLS) including CPR, oxygen therapy, and wound care.
  • Safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles and equipment.
  • Transport patients to medical facilities with care and attention, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Document patient information, medical histories, and treatments accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and other emergency personnel.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of ambulance and medical supplies.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding emergency medical services.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Maryland EMT-B certification (or ability to obtain before start date)
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking under pressure
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited EMT training program
  • Previous volunteer experience in emergency services or healthcare
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Howard County, Maryland
