Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Engineer to join our dynamic team in Harbord Village, Toronto. As a Professional Environmental Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, design, and implementation of a diverse range of environmental projects. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
- Conduct comprehensive environmental site assessments (Phases I, II, and III), risk assessments, and develop remediation strategies.
- Design and implement solutions for water and wastewater treatment, air quality control, solid waste management, and pollution prevention.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, specifications, and permit applications for various environmental projects.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant environmental regulations, policies, and industry standards (e.g., MOECP, Federal Acts).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings, present findings, and build strong professional relationships.
- Monitor project performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay abreast of emerging environmental technologies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with an Environmental focus, or a related field.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting or a related industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in site remediation, environmental impact assessments, and/or water resources management.
- Proficiency with environmental modeling software and GIS applications.
- Strong understanding of Canadian federal and Ontario provincial environmental regulations.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with contaminated site management frameworks and guidelines (e.g., O.Reg. 153/04).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Specialization in areas such as climate change adaptation, renewable energy integration, or circular economy principles.
- Experience in business development and client relationship management.
