Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking an experienced and dedicated Escrow Officer to join our dynamic team in Downtown Vancouver. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in facilitating smooth and secure real estate transactions, acting as a trusted third-party liaison between buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents. We are looking for a professional who possesses an in-depth understanding of the escrow process, title requirements, and local real estate laws and regulations in British Columbia. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of escrow files from opening to closing, ensuring all conditions of sale are met, documents are accurately prepared, and funds are disbursed correctly and in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial escrow transactions from inception to completion.
- Review and interpret real estate contracts, title commitments, and lender instructions.
- Prepare all necessary escrow documents, including closing statements, deeds, and other transaction-specific paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and attorneys to resolve any issues and ensure a seamless closing experience.
- Obtain and verify all necessary documents, including property surveys, insurance policies, and tax information.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Process and disburse funds accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining strict adherence to escrow instructions.
- Reconcile escrow accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners.
- Stay updated on changes in real estate law, escrow regulations, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience as an Escrow Officer or in a similar role within the real estate or conveyancing industry.
- Proven knowledge of the full escrow process, title procedures, and real estate closing practices in British Columbia.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and financial transactions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple files concurrently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in escrow software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in real estate, legal studies, or a related field.
- Professional designation or certification in conveyancing or escrow (e.g., Notary Public, Paralegal).
- Experience with commercial real estate transactions.
