Job Description

Hiring.zycto is searching for experienced and highly motivated Commercial Fishermen to join our dedicated crew operating out of the Greater Toronto Area. This is an unparalleled opportunity for individuals who possess a profound respect for the marine environment, a strong work ethic, and a proven ability to perform under challenging conditions. As a Commercial Fisherman, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for executing fishing operations safely and efficiently, ensuring the highest quality of catch, and contributing to the overall success of our expeditions.

Your day-to-day will be anything but typical, often starting before dawn and extending through varying shifts, dictated by weather, tides, and fishing schedules. This role requires exceptional physical stamina, mental fortitude, and a readiness to adapt to dynamic situations at sea. You will be operating and maintaining specialized fishing gear, including nets, traps, and lines, and handling fish from the moment of capture through storage. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all maritime regulations, company policies, and best practices is non-negotiable. We believe in continuous improvement and expect our crew members to actively participate in training, offer insights, and contribute to a culture of excellence and shared responsibility.

Successful candidates will thrive in a team-oriented setting, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and possess practical problem-solving skills crucial for navigating the unpredictable nature of commercial fishing. You’ll work closely with the Captain and fellow crew members, contributing to navigation, deck maintenance, and emergency preparedness. If you are looking for more than just a job – if you seek a challenging career that connects you directly to the natural world and offers a genuine sense of accomplishment – then Hiring.zycto welcomes your application.
