Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Certified Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team at our Cherry Street, Toronto facility. This pivotal full-time role is essential to maintaining the seamless flow of our extensive warehousing and distribution operations. As a Forklift Driver, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of various materials and products, directly impacting our supply chain’s reliability and speed. Your day will involve operating counterbalance, reach, or other specified forklift equipment to perform a variety of tasks crucial to our daily success. This includes the careful loading and unloading of trucks, organizing inventory within our racking systems, and transporting goods between different departments or staging areas. The ideal candidate will not only possess a valid forklift certification but also demonstrate a proactive approach to safety, performing regular pre-shift inspections and promptly reporting any equipment issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach, order picker) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials and products.
  • Load and unload delivery trucks and trailers, ensuring accurate documentation and proper handling of goods.
  • Transport products and materials throughout the warehouse, adhering to designated storage locations and established procedures.
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and complete necessary logs, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts, maintaining organized storage areas, and ensuring product rotation.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and traffic management plans.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to overall warehouse cleanliness and safety.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational deadlines.

Required Skills

  • Valid Forklift Operator Certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach Truck, Order Picker)
  • Minimum of 1 year of proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting
  • Strong understanding and commitment to warehouse safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory and documentation
  • Basic mathematical skills to assist with inventory counts and order verification
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, often under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience with RF scanners or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Certification in First Aid and/or CPR
  • Experience operating multiple types of material handling equipment
