Key Responsibilities
- Translate documents and content from French to English and English to French with high accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Ensure linguistic quality, adherence to client-specific terminology, and stylistic guidelines across all projects.
- Proofread and edit translated materials rigorously to guarantee grammatical correctness, factual accuracy, and overall quality.
- Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively to ensure timely delivery within specified deadlines.
- Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and translation memory (TM) software to optimize efficiency and maintain consistency.
- Conduct thorough linguistic research and terminology management to ensure precision and subject matter accuracy.
- Communicate proactively with project managers regarding project status, potential challenges, and any linguistic queries.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all translated materials and sensitive client information.
- Continuously enhance linguistic skills and stay updated with translation industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Native-level fluency in both French and English (written and spoken).
- Minimum of 3 years of proven professional experience as a translator.
- Exceptional grammatical, stylistic, and lexical proficiency in both source and target languages.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and idiomatic expressions in French and English.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource).
- Excellent research skills for terminology, subject matter, and cultural contexts.
