As a Glazier Trainee, you will work alongside experienced professionals, learning the intricacies of handling, cutting, fitting, and installing various types of glass in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. From large storefront windows to intricate shower enclosures and decorative glass features, you’ll gain hands-on experience with diverse projects that demand precision and attention to detail. Our structured training program will equip you with all the essential skills, knowledge, and safety protocols required to excel in this specialized field. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all provided training sessions to learn glazing techniques and safety protocols.
  • Learn to safely handle, cut, shape, and install various types of glass, mirrors, and related materials.
  • Assist experienced Glaziers in the installation of windows, doors, skylights, storefronts, shower enclosures, and interior glass partitions.
  • Prepare work sites by measuring openings, cutting glass to specification, and carefully removing old glass or frames.
  • Apply sealants, caulking, and other finishing materials to ensure secure and weather-tight installations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of different glass types, their properties, and appropriate applications.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior Glaziers or supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Strong willingness and enthusiasm to learn a skilled trade.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic understanding of measurements and calculations (or willingness to learn).
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials, bend, climb, and work at heights when necessary.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is an asset but not required.
  • Prior experience in a construction or manual labor role is a plus, but not essential.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an advantage.
