Job Description
We are seeking a passionate, highly skilled, and dedicated Martial Arts Instructor with a Black Belt certification to lead and inspire students of all ages and skill levels within our dynamic academy. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality martial arts classes to students of various age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during classes, enforcing rules and protocols rigorously.
- Design and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum that promote physical conditioning, technical proficiency, mental discipline, and character development.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and assess their readiness for belt promotions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dojo environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Participate in community outreach events, demonstrations, and academy-related activities to promote martial arts and our program.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model, instilling values such as respect, humility, perseverance, and self-control.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and fellow staff members regarding progress, upcoming events, and any concerns.
Required Skills
- Certified Black Belt in a recognized martial arts discipline (e.g., Taekwondo, Karate, Judo, Kung Fu, BJJ)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching or instructional experience in martial arts post-Black Belt attainment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills, with the ability to connect with students of all ages.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively, maintaining discipline and engaging students.
- Strong leadership qualities and a proven ability to inspire and empower others.
- Deep understanding of martial arts philosophy, ethics, and traditions.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain promptly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching multiple martial arts styles or disciplines.
- Background in competitive martial arts.
- Experience with curriculum development and program design.
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Education, Sports Management).
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local community.
