Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our growing team in Headingley, Leeds. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, WLAN).
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and uptime.
- Perform routine network configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and patching.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security incidents.
- Manage and configure network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and ensure seamless network connectivity.
- Ensure network security best practices are followed and compliance standards are met.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical incident response as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies (VLANs, STP).
- Experience with enterprise-level network hardware (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP Aruba).
- Solid understanding of network security principles, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, CompTIA Network+).
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework.
