Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead engaging and effective Pilates classes (mat and/or reformer) for individuals and groups across various skill levels.
- Conduct client assessments, develop personalized programs, and provide modifications to accommodate diverse needs and abilities.
- Ensure client safety by adhering to proper form, providing clear instructions, and maintaining a clean and organized studio environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Pilates techniques, anatomy, and industry best practices through continuous professional development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive class atmosphere, encouraging client participation and building strong relationships within the community.
- Assist with studio operations, including scheduling, client inquiries, and equipment maintenance as needed.
Required Skills
- Nationally recognized Pilates certification (e.g., BASI, STOTT, Polestar, Body Arts and Science International).
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of demonstrated experience teaching Pilates in a studio or fitness setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and connect with clients.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and contraindications for various exercises.
- Ability to adapt teaching style and modify exercises for clients with different fitness levels, injuries, or conditions.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain promptly upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certification in specific Pilates apparatus (e.g., Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel).
- Experience with pre/post-natal Pilates, rehabilitation Pilates, or special populations.
- Background in dance, gymnastics, physiotherapy, or other related movement disciplines.
- Experience using scheduling and client management software.
