Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and insightful Policy Analyst to join our passionate team in Cityview, Toronto. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on a range of social policy issues relevant to the non-profit sector.
- Develop evidence-based policy briefs, reports, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor legislative developments, policy trends, and public discourse to identify opportunities and threats.
- Evaluate the impact of existing policies and programs, recommending adjustments for improved effectiveness and equity.
- Collaborate with advocacy teams to translate policy recommendations into actionable strategies and campaigns.
- Prepare presentations and communications materials to effectively convey complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
- Engage with external partners, government officials, and community groups to gather insights and build consensus.
- Contribute to grant proposals and funding applications by providing policy context and rationale.
- Represent Hiring.zycto at relevant forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Required Skills
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Proven experience in policy research, analysis, and development, preferably within the non-profit sector or public policy domain.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Ability to synthesize vast amounts of information and translate it into actionable insights.
- Demonstrated understanding of Canadian social policy landscape, particularly within Ontario.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS).
- Familiarity with community engagement and stakeholder consultation processes.
- Knowledge of legislative processes at municipal, provincial, and federal levels in Canada.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
