Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced and dedicated School Cafeteria Manager to lead our food service operations in a vibrant educational setting located in the heart of Powderhorn, Minneapolis. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily cafeteria operations, including food preparation, serving, and cleanup.
- Develop and implement appealing, nutritious menus that comply with USDA guidelines and school nutritional standards.
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations (HACCP, local health codes).
- Monitor and control food inventory, ordering supplies, managing deliveries, and minimizing waste.
- Manage the cafeteria budget, including tracking expenses, optimizing costs, and reporting on financial performance.
- Maintain accurate records related to food production, sales, inventory, and staff hours.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and visitors, addressing feedback and special requests professionally.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with school administration to support school events and programs.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in food service management, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP certification).
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team effectively.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in budget management, inventory control, and food cost analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

- ServSafe Manager certification.
- Knowledge of local and state school nutrition program requirements specific to Minnesota.
- Experience adapting menus for various dietary restrictions and allergies.
